Frequently Asked Questions
Thanks to the smart daily timer, you can set the unit to operate for only the time you are home to enjoy it, extending the life beyond other plug-ins that simply operate non-stop until you remember to turn them off.
Each 45ml pod provides up to 12 weeks of fragrance, depending on the daily run time and environment it is used in. Actual fragrance life can vary depending on the fragrance selected, airflow and other environmental factors.
Expect a fragrance that’s pleasantly noticeable, consistent, and designed to fill your space. Airflow enhances scent throw, so we recommend experimenting with different power points in your home to find which ones work best for you.
Reed diffusers are ideal for smaller, enclosed spaces like bathrooms or wardrobes. Our Plug-in Diffuser best suits medium to larger areas, offering stronger scent dispersion.
Many customers choose to place one at the entrance or hallway, and another in a living zone. Our recommendation is to use in a space with good ventilation/airflow as this assists with fragrance dispersion.
They work in any upright power point, in any room.
To maximise fragrance pod longevity, we recommend the 3 or 6-hour setting.
Once set, the diffuser will automatically switch on at the same time each day. Simply check the unit regularly and replace the fragrance pod when it is low.
While the 24-hour setting does allow continuous operation, it will use fragrance while you're asleep and unable to enjoy it, so we generally don't recommend it.
Our fragrances are formulated in accordance with IFRA and RIFM standards, and are free of phthlalates.
Sensitivity can vary between animals, and cats and dogs can be more responsive to certain notes, particularly eucalyptus and citrus. If this is a concern, we suggest choosing fragrances without these notes.
As with all fragranced products, we recommend providing pets with access to well-ventilated, fragrance-free areas and discontinuing use if you notice any sensitivity.
Our fragrances page is a helpful way to read more detail about each of our fragrances.
If you'd like to sample our fragrances, we've introduced new Mini Mists, the perfect way to explore our entire fragrance collection.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Insert the wick
Push the included wick through the fragrance pod opening until it reaches the bottom of the pod. Ensure the seal around the wick and bottle remains securely fastened at all times to prevent leakage.
Attach the pod
Align the pod under the diffuser and twist gently until securely in place.
Plug in upright only
Always use an upright wall socket. Do not plug in sideways or upside down, as this will cause leakage.
Turn on and set timer
Press the power button to switch on, then press again to select your preferred run time. The number on screen is the remaining runtime in hours.
Daily auto-start
The diffuser will then automatically back turn on at the same time each day. To reset or turn off this function, switch the unit off or unplug it.
Wipe any spills
Fragrance pods contain concentrated oils which can damage surfaces. Use a damp cloth to wipe any spills immediately.
Loving it as much as my midnight rose scent.. put it in my master bathroom and it longer into our bedroom as well and smells so beautiful. I love that even input it on number 03 on the setting it give me enough decent smells around our big room. Can’t wait to get more scents. I think Simon and Johan need to create a bundle of choice for the refills only to make it great buy on special occasion 😉 of course with good deal 😉
Hi Dina! We're thrilled to hear you love the diffuser and Midnight Rose scent. Your idea for a refill bundle sounds fantastic, thanks for the suggestion we'll look into this! We look forward to bringing you more delightful options. Enjoy your fragrances!

Easy to use. The caramel is by far my favourite scent
I love it so much! I love the vanilla scent and it definitely makes the entire living and dining area smell so incredible. I found the perfect scent, will definitely buy another for the bathroom. This has been so easy to set up too.
Thanks so much Gwen, we're thrilled to hear you love the fragrance! Thanks so much for your kind words and for choosing us 😇

Excellent quality
Fast shipping
Definitely I will buy more
I’ve made multiple orders from The Richmond Candle Co, all for the same scent! Aussie Bush is absolutely fabulous. It’s enough to make the house smell lovely without being overpowering. I have a plug in diffuser in the kitchen and it does the kitchen, dining area, and lounge room. On the 3hr setting I get almost 3 months out of a bottle. The sent is beautiful, and the customer service is excellent! Highly recommend!
Hi Megan, thank you so much for sharing your lovely experience! We're over the moon to hear you enjoy Aussie Bush and that our plug-in diffuser works so well for you. We appreciate your continued support and recommendation 😇

Nice fragrance but it's not very strong
Thanks for your feedback. We regularly test and refine all of our fragrance formulations to achieve a fragrance that is pleasantly noticeable without being overpowering.
Our plug-in diffusers are designed to provide a consistent and pleasant background fragrance that you can enjoy throughout the day, rather than the stronger, more immediate fragrance experience you will get from a candle or room mist.
We really appreciate you sharing your feedback and will take it into consideration as we continue to review and refine our products.
Sweet lingering scent
Thank you Folake, we love that you love the longevity of the fragrance ⭐ made our day!
Cannot fault these. My house smells like a dream. I was so worried about our house smelling like our new puppy but even just on 3 hours people comment on our “candle” before realizing we don’t have one lit!!!
Hi Georgia, we're thrilled to hear you're loving your plug in! It's wonderful to know it keeps your home smelling amazing, even with a new puppy around. I especially love the 'candle' part 😂
The smell of roses is my favourite and this is exactly that, a lovely rose scent. Very happy with my choice.
I bought this because of the timer and because I only want it to be on a few hours a day for when I come home. I don’t have to think about it, works perfectly and the smells are beautiful. Oud + spiced mandarin is gorgeous well done
So happy with my order, they smell amazing and last a good amount of time. Favourite scents so far have been Vanilla Rock Candy and French Pear but have loved all 6 of the ones I’ve ordered really
Smells great but like others are saying, it doesn't last long even on the the 3hr setting. It doesn't reach the amount of time the said is the minimum.
Hi Xanthe,
Thank you for your feedback.
Our website guidance is clear that ‘up to 12 weeks’ does mean the maximum, not the minimum and so I’m sorry to hear you’re disappointed with this.
Longevity can vary depending on factors such as room temperature, humidity, and the airflow in space that the diffuser is used.
Thanks for providing feedback, we continue to refine our communication so we don’t leave customers disappointed - lots of others are happy and we’re always trying to find a way to keep everyone happy 😊
Kind regards
-Simon
Beautiful scent
I love dogs but not their odour. The diffuser has been the perfect remedy..
The timer on the diffuser is so practical and perfect. All of the scents are great - I love it!
Amazing and love. This is my go to with two dogs, kids and never ending kids spots and smelly
Such a great plug-in, the automatic timer is the best part—once set, it just turns on and off by itself every day so you don't waste the oil. The smell is amazing and not overpowering. Definitely worth getting.
Hi Susana, we're super happy to hear you love your plug-in diffuser! Thanks for sharing your experience and enjoy the lovely scents!
These diffusers are the best i have found. Absolutely fantastic. This scent is probably my favourite
I love that you can set the timer and forget about it and it comes on the same time every day! Super easy to order, shipment was fast and the products are amazing, the house smells gorgeous when I get home. Will be repurchasing more in the future!
Hi Gabrielle, thank you so much for your kind feedback! We're thrilled to hear you're enjoying the diffuser and you love the scent when you get home… makes all the difference when opening the door and you get a lovely welcoming fragrance.
